It might be inappropriate but very usual and reasonable implementation
(for faster and lighter shutdown of connection in a heavy loaded network).
And what is clearly inappropriate is the error message "BUFFER_UNDERFLOW"
by Java which does not indicate anything informative about
"connection reset" or "premature end-of-stream" :)
