[DeleGate-En] delegate as nntp to imap gateway
05 Oct 2005 23:11:48 GMT Dmitry Gromov <p7afqbdyi-ok6ijbjsvfvr.ml@ml.delegate.org>

Hi!

Is it possible to use delegate as NNTP to IMAP caching gateway?
I mean, I want to start delegate with parameters like this:
-P8143 SERVER=imap MOUNT="* nntp://my.nntp.host/*"

and then to be able to point Thunderbird to port 8143 to read groups,
specifying group name as user name.

There is an example in manual for NNTP server to POP client gateway,
which I did not try.

The reason why I want setup like this is that I hope it will allow me to
keep read state on the messages in news group, something IMAP server can
handle.

If I run delegate with parameters as above and try accessing it via IMAP
client, it does not work - it always asks me for password...
Here is what I get in the log:

I'd really apreciate any help!

Thanks,
Dmitry
